Those who’ve been reading here for a while know how much more meaningful engagement sessions are when we can photograph them in locations that mean something to you as a couple – Stephanie and Ryan hit the meaningful button on the nose. We spent the afternoon at a pond near Stephanie’s home in Lumberton where they like to hang out and the place where sparks first flew between them. Below are a few of my favorites from the session, enjoy! :

We began innocently enough with the classic “American Gothic” at a barnyard in China, Tx

Raindrops kept falling on our heads… it was easy to get a little disappointed, until we just decided we weren’t going to stop the rain by complaining and just go with it. We’re going to re-schedule soon, but for now, here’s a few of my favorites of the rain falling mainly on the plain in China:

*Perfect* weather and light were the story of the day and one beautiful couple from Southeast Texas were the stars

Teachers at local area schools, Jana and Cody were a lot of fun to work with – into biking, running and the great outdoors, we thought spending the afternoon on the Strand and seawall would be a great way to tell their story!

Cody loves to travel, and Jana loves to pack… so Cody better get a bigger trunk

We finish the day down by the seawall and water – gorgeous weather all day.

Perfect.

Yes, please!

After finding out that I’ve actually known Sheila’s parents for years, it will truly be an honor to take part in their special day.

Sheila and Daniel met at Vanderbilt, both have doctorate’s in their specialties, and both of her parents are MD’s, but when we met recently for a quick photo session prior to their engagement party at her parents’ home here in Beaumont, it was just so relaxed and welcoming – easy smiles and laughter. Now the heat mind you, was our current 110+ heat index, but Daniel was cool. You could see how much Sheila meant to him when he looked at her

It promises to be a truly memorable event, La Belle Fleur and REF Productions are also involved. Stay tuned as we bring you more!

Danae and Jerry are getting married this summer!

We met up recently at “the scene of the crime” Adventure Kingdom, where Danae and Jerry first met – a spirited game of putt-putt brought them together and it’s been a whirlwind romance since then!

I *love* that we could shoot their engagement photos in the locations that mean something to them as a couple – the sting of Danae’s early win at miniature golf was soon softened by her saying “yes” when Jerry proposed on their land in Fannett:

Right here, among the rabbits and armadillos is where Jerry swallowed hard a couple of times and said the magic words:

If you recognize Jerry, he was a groomsman in Kyra and Ian’s wedding this past year and you may have also seen them in the crowd at Lauree and Shane’s wedding too – Shane and Jerry are buddies in the Orange Fire Department – and good thing Jerry is a fireman, ‘cuz someone needed saving that hot afternoon:

Of course, no one is ever harmed in a BellaFotografica engagement session, tho I’m not totally sure what happened after I left.

They’re getting married this November and what a better way to celebrate their engagement than having some fun photos made. So, a couple weeks back, we did just that. I photographed Kayla and Brandon’s fun engagement session.

We originally wanted to have their photos done at the Port Neches park but it was Mother’s day and the park was packed. Luckily, we found some very nice open spots nearby at Port Arthur.

Anyhow, here’s a sneak peek, I loved how the photos turned out, hope you guys love them too =)

Melanie (who’s from Lumberton) and Trey (who’s from Hamshire), met on Crystal Beach and are now living in Houston – so of course we had their engagement photos in Beaumont

Both grew up in small town Southeast Texas and wanted more of a country feel to their session and with busy jobs in healthcare, squeezing in a fun afternoon together took a bit of work, but I believe it was worth it – pretty pictures ahead!

Family member Baxter wanted to get in on the action, so he began by “saying his prayers” then showing us what a mighty dog he is.

Good boy Baxter! From there we headed downtown for a different vibe…

Moving to a nearby alley, Trey and Melanie didn’t need any coaxing to show their love for each other

Congratulations to them on their upcoming Fall wedding, we’ll be seeing more of Melanie later in her bridal session.
