Christin and Eric’s Engagement Session

I met Christin a year or so ago when a friend of mine and I were cruising Adams Bayou, checking out the wildlife that is Shangri La Gardens in Orange, TX. Christin was working as a guide aboard the flat-bottom boats that toured the back alleys of Adams Bayou. That day I took lots of flora and fauna images and Christin ended up in one, pointing at some rainbow-colored fungus or other – I won’t post that image, we all looked like we were cruising around swampland in mid-summer.:)

Anyway, when I met Christin again in couple months ago I knew she looked familiar, turns out she worked at The Wellness Center too – combine that with meeting Stacey and Jeremy in years past and that’s just way too much deja vu.:)

Back to our soon-to-be marrieds: Eric and Christin met years ago in high school, began dating when Christin moved to Galveston for college and the rest is history. We decided it would be perfect to photograph their engagement images in Galveston! We began along the docks on the bay side – lots of color, sun, fishing boats and peeling paint:

We then moved over to the Strand, a historical section of town nearly completely destroyed by Hurricane Ike. Galvestonians have done a lot towards restoring the area to its former glory. Eric and Christin took the opportunity to pass secret whispers – not very nice:(

Whew! It’s hot out here!:)
We then moved over to the “Original Mexican Cafe” where they went on their first date, a few images inside and a few out:

I *love* how the sun beams just wrap around them:)From there we went to the seawall – the Flagship Hotel (we found out both our parents went there on their honeymoons:eek:). The hotel has seen much better days, the hurricane nearly destroying it too. It was peaceful underneath tho and the piles/columns and other support structure mixed well with the gentle waves:

Apparently Eric and Christin have been here before:

At least we now know the answer:)We finish up with a couple more of my favorite images – relaxed, fun, I’m looking forward to their wedding in Port Arthur:)
