Even in the middle of a rain storm, covered by swarms of mosquitoes (yes, 2 weeks in a row), Shonte and Jim smiled throughout their engagement session and were great subjects as we photographed them in and around Lamar State College Port Arthur.
I had a fantastic time hanging with them for the afternoon, and I’m really looking forward to the wedding! Shonte and Jim are just incredibly cool, down to Earth people. With their wedding coming up in November, we are excited to share a few images from their session, and please leave a comment if you’d like!

It’s been a while since I’ve walked on the campus in Port Arthur, there are some great old buildings down there – gorgeous marble, brick and columns. They’re celebrating 100 years of Southeast Texas higher education – a fitting place for a new couple beginning their lives together… speakina which, aren’t they just the cutest?![]()

They were in such a good mood the whole time it was difficult to catch them in a serious moment.![]()

I love shooting relaxed, fun portraits – it shows in their expressions and eased tensions. No experience required!![]()

A few more below, lots more in their personal gallery… can’t wait for the bridal session and wedding.![]()
