Everyone remembers Kyra and Ian’s beautiful wedding from this past January, the day was perfect From the handmade slippers and matching robes at Glamour Hair Salon to the gold and red gilted St Michael’s Orthodox church ceremony to the excellent band Stereo playing at the Beaumont Botanical Garden Reception, I *loved* their day.

We’ve ordered their wedding album now, it should be in soon – a gorgeous 12″x16″ album with metallic pages and metal cover. They added a few of their favorite images from their engagement session up front too. Here’s the web-sized version of the album, please forgive the watermark, they aren’t in the final draft

Beaumont Baby Dedication | Waylan

It was a beautiful day for a wedding!

Umm… a baby dedication!

This past year I made the decision to focus totally on wedding and wedding-related (engagements, bridals and trash-the-dress) events, really wanting to master what many consider a “niche” area in photography… that is until Scarlett brought little Waylan by and requested my documenting his dedication.

How can you pass up his cute chubby cheeks?

It was a beautiful day for a baby dedication! Calder Baptist Church in Beaumont is a gorgeous church here in the Oaks Historic District.

We began early with some family portraits, including a few of Scarlett with Waylan and beautiful natural light streaming through the windows. From there the church service began – Pastor Fuller brought the family up front, gave Waylan the grand tour (introducing him to all the families who will have a profound effect on his life), blessed the baby and prayed with the family. We can all use reminding of how much responsibility we have with our precious little ones.

Even big brother got to take part and pray for Waylan. It was a beautiful service.

From there we made our way over to the Beaumont Country Club where a reception awaited Waylan and all his fans on the porch. He dozed off and on but appeared to have a great time!

Perfect cake, I love the booties on top.

It was a beautiful day for a baby dedication! Good luck to Waylan’s family and church family and God Bless Waylan.

Beaumont Wedding | ♥ Christina and Eric ♥

It was a beautiful day for a wedding!

I met Christina and her bridesmaids at Total FX in Vidor as they were in the middle of manicures, pedicures, hair did’s, and hair done’s – wedding mornings are always buzzing with activity as the ladies prep for a big day. Christina is checking out some of the handiwork here:

Meanwhile, Marius was with Eric and his men as they go through the usual guy routine in getting ready for weddings – video games, a little shaving, more video games, sometimes pizza and sometimes, when the going gets rough, they break out the video games Eric is bracing for the first of 2 shaves that day:

By now we made it to the Lighthouse Worship Center church to apply finishing touches, relax a bit and take a few portraits before the ceremony begins. Christina waits as her sister Angela readies her artist’s brush:

Christina and Eric have chosen to do a “Salt Covenant Ceremony” instead of lighting a candle. Patterned after customs dating back to the Old Testament, the pastor explained it like this: “During ancient times, agreements and promises were sealed by a salt covenant. Each person would take a pinch of salt from their pouch and place it in the pouch of the other. This agreement could not be broken unless an individual could retrieve their own grains of salt.” In this occasion, they will pour the salt from the individual bottles into the center one; a beautiful alternative unity celebration, for sure

The guys are ready, as you can tell by their matching Chuck Taylor’s – Eric is the one with the rose boutonniere, naturally

Christina is just about ready herself, as her ladies assist with the lacing of her wedding dress.

While activity is going on all around her, the flower girl has decided the best way to deal with stress is to dance!

Above it seems like the salt was being a little obstinate, but Eric and Christina took it in stride – nothing was going to deter them from their intended path:

From there it was on to the waiting reception hall at Rockin A’s, the place really looked nice:

Here, Mr. and Mrs. Monroe steal one more kiss before heading in to be announced.

It was a beautiful day for taking bridal photos indoors! The heat this past summer has been pretty unbearable, so it was with great relief that Christina and I hid away in the Beaumont Tyrrel Library for some fun bridal portraits. Here’s a few of my favorites:

Bedtime

Getting a few last-minute details ready for Christina and Eric’s wedding tomorrow/today. While formatting my cards I found some images of the family from this summer – at the beach, 4th of July fireworks with family, playing outside, potty training an 18 month old, it’s been an interesting summer around here.

Here are a couple of photos from the other night. Winding two toddlers down for bedtime can be challenging, Melanie is excellent with them, usually reading a bedtime Bible story helps a lot:

Johnna and Adam’s Wedding Reception

It was a beautiful day for an outdoor wedding reception!

Did I mention the Wagners and Westbrooks have impeccable taste? Everything came together perfectly! Crystal, white roses and greenery adorned every facet of their backyard:

Johnna and Adam have arrived and take a few moments to make googly eyes at each other

Evening begins to descend on the party, the candles provided the perfect amount of light for the fun on the periphery:

This little fella is having a great time! … So You Think You Can Dance seems to be catching on!

The night gets even darker, perfectly setting the table for the fun later.

The fun winds down as Johnna and Adam make their way through the hail of bird seed to their waiting limo:

Great day – the families were warm, friendly and gracious, the details were totally amazing, everything about the wedding and reception was totally flawless, and Marius shot with me again and nailed it – a year and a half since Johnna, Adam and I initially met to discuss this day, I never could have imagined it would turn out so beautifully. My best to you guys and your future together

Johnna and Adam Get Married!

Johnna and Adam arrived at Wesley United Methodist Church, Nederland on a *beautiful* sunny day. It’s a great day to get married:

Everything in the church was ready to go, white roses adorning everything that didn’t move.

Johnna and her girls have moved into another gear as they shake off the effects of handfuls of fingerfoods from the morning’s brunch. Here, all hands on deck as one bridesmaid gets her eyelashes perfected and lips balmed:

Johnna has stepped into her dress. Assisted by her mom, she begins the process of tieing, clasping and fastening a Wagner Original gown handmade for her. An obviously admiring sister looks on.

Meanwhile, Adam is taking it all in, asking for a little help right about now.

Not a bad way to begin relaxing…

Johnna is finishing her process, getting some last-minute lotion and lip gloss action.

The moment is almost here! The parade of handsome groomsmen and lovely bridesmaids has begun!

Samantha and Blake are Getting Married!

Samantha and Blake will be tying the knot this coming October! Recently we photographed their engagement session on the beautiful Kemah Boardwalk.

We love to photograph a couple’s engagement photos in locations that mean something to them as a couple, whether it’s where they met, where they like to hang out or where the proposal took place. We went back and forth between the LSU campus, the family ranch near Port Arthur and a few other places… After searching high and low for the proper place to document their happily engaged days we settled on the Kemah Boardwalk, the place of many a hot date

With the heat index easily over 100, we spent a lot of time in the shade, peeking our heads out occasionally for some nice “walking the boardwalk” photos

Finally, we took a break and cooled off a bit in the Aquarium Restaurant, sipping beverages while Sam and Blake made small talk with the bartender and googly eyes at each other

Our heels cooled, we headed outdoors in time to watch a few of the sailboats glide in to harbor for the day, well at least I did…

With the sun setting, temps dropped nearly into the 90′s and we rode a few rides like the ferris wheel and carousel for the breeze

20 minutes in the cool zone and we were new people The day was hot, but we really had a lot of fun Stay tuned for Sam’s bridal photos and their wedding coming up quickly!

Johnna and Adam’s Reception – Sneak Peak

I just wanted to post a few of our favorites from our documenting Johnna and Adam’s outdoor reception – probably one of the most beautiful receptions I’ve seen:

The large white tent, the white chairs, linen and floral decor worked together perfectly:

Their wedding cake is the most intricately detailed wedding cake I’ve ever seen too:

A huge cake, the aroma filled their home The lace you see below the cake is the same lace in Johnna’s wedding dress.

The hand fans you see on the tables below (made from one of their engagement photos) came in *very* handy that day, as the heat index was well over 100

Amazing, eh?

Johnna and Adam Get Married!

Johnna’s wedding day began bright and early on a beautiful summer day at Salon Mecca in Port Neches on Nall. It was time for nails, hair and girl-talk:

Meanwhile, Adam and his men started their day at Nederland Nails with a pedicure, of course From there it was on to fishing in the pond, smoking a few stogies and just relaxing while trying to stay cool on what was one of the hotter days this summer:

Back at Salon Mecca, it was Johnna’s turn in the chair while her mom and her girls looked on:

I believe this is when Johnna and her mom lock eyes while Johnna’s bridal hair pin is being put in.

From there we move on to the morning bridal brunch party being held nearby in Johnna’s grandmother’s home. A strong sense of family was in abundant display that day as even more friends and family showed up, whole walls were covered in framed family portraits, the tables were dressed in linen, silver and old framed photos of Johnna. The menu included iced tea with mint leaves adorning the glass, finger sandwiches and summer fruit – the perfect elegant Southern wedding day brunch.

Up next is a few not-to-be-missed photos of Johnna’s parents’ home being made ready for the outdoor wedding reception – wow!
