Luckily Oscar was on the scene as well, and after listening to his heart, he pronounced the victim well enough to continue with the engagement session.

Bonnie and Oscar met years ago while they were working at Crockett Street’s Rio Rita’s restaurant. Bonnie went on to a career in news and communications, Oscar began his in the medical field working as an RN in ICU. We felt it would be perfect to bring both how and where they met and some pieces of their careers into their engagement photos for something uniquely them

While they’re both working and living in Austin, their late Spring wedding is coming soon and will include a gorgeous backyard tented event – I’m so looking forward to the event!

We spent most of our time in and around (the now) Rancho Grande in intimate settings before moving to a few other places around Beaumont.

Back outside, we felt it would be fun to do some “Anchor Man: Ron Burgandy” scenes:

“You stay classy Beaumont!”

Since it was close to Valentine’s Day, I think Oscar declared victory over Japan again:

See what I mean? We had the best time that afternoon getting to know each other a bit better and finding out what makes them tick. (hint: penguins play a big part).

A *great* couple to hang out with, I loved their relaxed and easy-going style. With light this pretty and a couple this connected, the afternoon seemed to fly by…

“I promise officer, she was fine when I last saw her…” The below image was one of my favorite from the day – neither of their faces are much in focus or telling the story, but the hands do.

Their wedding is not until next November – have fun and Merry Christmas, the year is going to fly by!

Coming soon are the wedding festivities for Ashleigh and Tyne – two young lovers from the Southeast Texas area – Ashleigh works in a local hospital and Tyne, when he isn’t playing in a band, works in one of the local plants – good people, as my family would say





Ashleigh called the other day and wanted to know if they could bring Tyne’s drum set and take some photos with it – sure! I’m all for doing something that marks who the couple is as young adults at this point in their lives; what makes them get up in the morning and stay up late at night, their passions, if you will. So the drums were setup on the grass at riverfront park here in Beaumont and Tyne went to town, Ashleigh alternately listening, rocking and coyly luring while the band played on:





It worked! Eventually Tyne put the sticks down and paid more attention to the love of his life:





When it comes to rythmn and playing the drums, Ashleigh has two left feet Tyne tried tho:

A little stroll down the boardwalk for a little stylin, kissin, and huggin happened:

The session began with what seemed like perfect weather, until what locals are calling “The Swarm of ’09″ set in on us in downtown Beaumont – I’ve never seen so many mosquitos in one place! We bravely gamed on, getting some great photos in the meantime








What Off! wasn’t able to keep away, photoshop was able to remove…








But really… once we moved further away from the river, things were much more bearable… Ashley and her beau changed into some more comfortable clothing, the sun descended a bit lower in the sky and ka-chow! the light was beautiful!








From there we moved on to the park in Port Neches – AJ wanted a few with his yellow lab, who was definitely a bit of a camera hound





As the sun set we finished up with a few more of the lovebirds down by the river – gorgeous sky in the background.





I’m looking forward to the bridals and wedding…
