    Devin’s Bridal Images

Devin and Michael were finally married last night in a gorgeous wedding in the ballroom at the Holiday Inn Plaza, so today we get to see her bridal portraits – it seems like forever ago we photographed their engagement session. 🙂 We photographed her in and on the grounds of the beautiful Beau Rêve. Makeup was done by the expert local makeup artist Grace Mathis – she and I have been discussing collaborating on projects since last Valentines day, it was good to see in person just how good she is. 🙂 A historic plantation style home, soon to be a bed-and-breakfast, the Beau Rêve was the perfect setting for…

    Christin’s Bridal Portraits

Christin’s big day has passed and I can now post some of Jackie O’s portraits. 🙂 Christin and I met up in downtown Beaumont, choosing a site perfect for her retro 60’s style tea-length dress, hair and jewelry – very classic, very Christin. From the brooch to the pearl earrings and necklace, everything came together in a very “Dirty Dancing/Down With Love” glamour – elegant and not too over-the-top: Even the French-inspired netted veil worked perfectly for the entire ensemble 🙂 …and of course, with a dress like this one, we just had to take it out for a little spin 🙂 Christin and Eric’s wedding images coming soon! 🙂

    Gwen’s Bridal Portraits

Woo-hoo! Gwen and Don are married, so now I can post a few of her more stunning bridal portraits 🙂 The heat that day nixed any idea of photographing her anywhere outside, but that’s ok. Our alternate plan of shooting in Beaumont’s Jefferson Theater worked out really well 🙂 We went all over the theater – upstairs, downstairs, down in the dungeon downstairs, back in the VIP room, on-stage… places rarely seen by the public. Gwen even strummed a little of Don’s guitar on-stage 🙂 Even with all the architectural beauty there, the best light is almost always by the window: Here’s one in the backstage VIP room, with lighting…

    Jeanne’s Bridals

Yay! I can finally post’em! 🙂 We photographed Jeanne’s bridal portraits about a month ago – beautiful dress and bride! Her Maggie Sottero wedding gown gave hints of greek goddess, so we chose a few locations and poses that kind of brought that out 🙂 See what I mean? She looked great then and on her wedding day, smiling mother of the bride looking on both times. Here’s one where the light just wrapped around her: OK, I’ll shut up now and just post a few more – I love the mood and feelings these evoke: A few more below, Jeanne made a gorgeous bride – I hope you and…

    Austin Bridals

I got together this past weekend with some photographer friends of mine in Austin – we spent the weekend photographing seniors, bridal sessions and even a few wedding ‘day after’ images. The seniors and our models were pretty much up for anything, so we tried some new stuff shooting in and around downtown Austin. A few of the ‘wedding day after’ portraits may be a little ‘hotter’ than you might send to your grandparents, but if you looking for something different, we can go from mild to not-so-mild and have a lot of fun doing it, besides, as a good friend of mine said, “weddings are about passion and romance”.…

Jamie and Tyson – Sneak Peek

I wanted to post a few images from this past weekend’s wedding with Jamie and Tyson. Held outdoors in Silsbee, Texas in front of their beautiful home, the ceremony was as fun and relaxed as the couple were. Jamie’s getting her sparkle on while waiting for the ceremony to begin: Here Chloe gets into the spirit: Ty only has eyes, for Jamie: All for now, more to come soon 🙂

    Parker and Barrow

I had some fun this past week, attending a seminar and photoshoot put on by John Michael Cooper of AltF infamy. John, whose work inspired the whole “Trash the Dress” craze, was in classic form – teaching, shooting, and inspiring. The day started off mildly, with John sitting down with us to discuss some of his background and thoughts behind his more famous images, then led us through some exercises in photographing engagement sessions. In the afternoon a couple recently married came in and we spent a little time shooting “pretty pictures”: before moving into the more interesting part of the day, JMC’s re-creation of Bonnie and Clyde’s takedown, with…
