Mrs. Ellis was married yesterday evening in a beautiful ceremony at St Elizabeth Catholic Church, so today we get to share some of our favorites from her bridal session a couple of months ago.

You just know the day will prove interesting when the bride shows up with her personalized bag and a baseball bat:

All who know Celina know she is probably the friendliest, most sincere and genuine person you’ll ever meet – the 1,000 or so who came to the wedding and reception can attest to that Assisted by her parents and Maid of Honor Jessica, Russ filmed her bridal video and I photographed a fun afternoon of wind and diamonds, lace and baseball.

The wind and rain blew and fell most of the afternoon – by the time it was time for Russ and I to cover her bridal session the rain had stopped, but it was still a “both hands on veil” kinda afternoon:

Many more beautiful portraits later, Celina broke out the sports equipment for her soon-to-be husband Matt. Matt is a sports freak (according to reliable sources) and Celina wanted to have some fun and give him a surprise:

When is the last time you saw a bride in full bridal regalia hiking a football or throwing a perfect strike to a wide receiver or left-handed batter?

We printed a few larger prints and combined a few into one large collage for her man’s cake table at the reception:

Devin’s Bridal Images

Devin and Michael were finally married last night in a gorgeous wedding in the ballroom at the Holiday Inn Plaza, so today we get to see her bridal portraits – it seems like forever ago we photographed their engagement session. We photographed her in and on the grounds of the beautiful Beau Rêve. Makeup was done by the expert local makeup artist Grace Mathis – she and I have been discussing collaborating on projects since last Valentines day, it was good to see in person just how good she is.

A historic plantation style home, soon to be a bed-and-breakfast, the Beau Rêve was the perfect setting for Devin’s bridal portraits:

We loved the majestic feel of the home, very “Gone With the Wind”… and Devin’s dress and netted veil were just perfect for her and the setting

This is the one she chose for her bridal portrait, one we photographed while she was resting from the heat outside:

Relaxed portraits are the best! I love the vintage feel of this “in the moment” portrait as Devin is about to step out onto one of the upstairs balconies:

As we finished up upstairs, we moved outdoors again to the grounds – some under the gazebo and some in front of the home:

Jeanne’s Bridals

Yay! I can finally post’em!
We photographed Jeanne’s bridal portraits about a month ago – beautiful dress and bride! Her Maggie Sottero wedding gown gave hints of greek goddess, so we chose a few locations and poses that kind of brought that out

See what I mean? She looked great then and on her wedding day, smiling mother of the bride looking on both times. Here’s one where the light just wrapped around her:
