It was a beautiful day for a wedding!

We began the day bright and early at Salon Mecca, local home of the wedding up-do
Here Gwen checks progress on her finishing touches:

Hairspray is the mainstay ingredient in good curls that last through the reception, here the flower girl gets the first primer coat![]()

Meanwhile, Marius is over at the reception site, The Pompano Club in Port Arthur, getting a few images of the decor being made ready for the party later:

mmmm… cake!
Don is getting ready, getting a little help with his cuff-links:

Rings!

Don and his men:

The big moment is finally here! Gwen and her dad make their way down the aisle to a waiting and watching groom.

Although the flowergirl doesn’t seem too impressed, I loved the color splashes seen everywhere, including their shoes here:

The feelings between these two were palpable:

Afterwards, we all headed to the Pompano for the fabulous food and DJ. Don and Gwen making their grand entrance:

Immediately a party broke out as the bridesmaids headed to the dance floor, with what appeared to be a choreographed routine – the French Judge gave them a 9.5 for artistic interpretation and a 9.3 for technical mastery
Actually, I think this is the “Y” “Hyphen” “Rockem Sockem Robot” dance, I’ll have to ask what that means![]()

Soon, the floor cleared and Don and Gwen had their first dance as husband and wife:

Some cake cutting, toasts, LOTS more dancing and fun followed:

Sandi Shipley Photography - Love the image of the bride with sunglasses! These images have a fun, retro feel to them.
