Port Arthur Bridal Portraits – Shonte

Shonte and Jim were married this past weekend in a beautiful wedding in Port Arthur, so today we get to see her bridal portraits! You may remember their engagement session. 🙂 We photographed her in and around Port Arthur, here are a few from that day: Beautiful sunlight everywhere, I love the texture of the stonework against her dress: This is the one she chose to display at the reception, I love the alternating shadows and light: Bling! Gorgeous light! 🙂 Images from their wedding coming soon!

    Devin’s Bridal Images

Devin and Michael were finally married last night in a gorgeous wedding in the ballroom at the Holiday Inn Plaza, so today we get to see her bridal portraits – it seems like forever ago we photographed their engagement session. 🙂 We photographed her in and on the grounds of the beautiful Beau Rêve. Makeup was done by the expert local makeup artist Grace Mathis – she and I have been discussing collaborating on projects since last Valentines day, it was good to see in person just how good she is. 🙂 A historic plantation style home, soon to be a bed-and-breakfast, the Beau Rêve was the perfect setting for…

    Morgin’s Bridal Portraits

Morgin and Patrick’s wonderful wedding was this past weekend, so today we get to see her bridal portraits. 🙂 We photographed her downtown in the Neches Room where they held their wedding reception. Morgin looked incredible, her dress definitely fit Morgin’s Cinderella wedding 🙂 This is the print she chose for her reception, a nice 24×30 metallic print on canvas, many people remarked that it looked like a painting: I loved how the light and shadow played across her dress, eyes, and arms. Here’s some dress lacing detail using the natural window light peeking through the veil lace: Photographers love this kind of light! I think even Ashton Kutcher could…

    Christin’s Bridal Portraits

Christin’s big day has passed and I can now post some of Jackie O’s portraits. 🙂 Christin and I met up in downtown Beaumont, choosing a site perfect for her retro 60’s style tea-length dress, hair and jewelry – very classic, very Christin. From the brooch to the pearl earrings and necklace, everything came together in a very “Dirty Dancing/Down With Love” glamour – elegant and not too over-the-top: Even the French-inspired netted veil worked perfectly for the entire ensemble 🙂 …and of course, with a dress like this one, we just had to take it out for a little spin 🙂 Christin and Eric’s wedding images coming soon! 🙂

    Gwen’s Bridal Portraits

Woo-hoo! Gwen and Don are married, so now I can post a few of her more stunning bridal portraits 🙂 The heat that day nixed any idea of photographing her anywhere outside, but that’s ok. Our alternate plan of shooting in Beaumont’s Jefferson Theater worked out really well 🙂 We went all over the theater – upstairs, downstairs, down in the dungeon downstairs, back in the VIP room, on-stage… places rarely seen by the public. Gwen even strummed a little of Don’s guitar on-stage 🙂 Even with all the architectural beauty there, the best light is almost always by the window: Here’s one in the backstage VIP room, with lighting…

    Stacey’s Bridal Portraits

Finally! I get to post some of my favorites from Stacey’s bridal session. 🙂 Because of the searing heat we’ve been having this summer, we began shooting Stacey’s bridal portraits in the relative safety of the Holiday Inn’s atrium. I love the mood of this black and white with her reflection on the baby grand: We got a lot of nice images there, but Stacey is more of an outdoors girl (to see just how much of an outdoors girl, wait for the next installment featuring their wedding 🙂 )… when we moved to the Botanical Gardens, she came alive and her personality just shown! We began with some nice…

    Casey’s Trash the Dress

Here’s a sneak peek at a couple of Casey’s Trash the Dress (Rock the Dress, Unbustled, Rock the Frock 🙂 ) session images. For those who are not sure what that means, this is a session where the bride gets to flaunt her dress one more time for great photos, even if it gets a spot or 2 on it. We don’t destroy the dress, most dresses are very resilient and will clean up fine unless we get some good ol’ Southeast Texas red clay on it (we avoid that 😉 ). Done after a wedding, the bride is much more relaxed and can focus on getting great images that…
