Nederland Weddings | Stacey and Jeremy – The Day After
If you’ve been reading the blog for a while, you remember Stacey and Jeremy’s beautiful backyard wedding this past summer – beautiful until the middle of Stacey’s vows and the storms came a calling – it was still beautiful, we just finished under umbrellas and, soaked to the bone, moved on to the fun reception. 🙂
Since then we’ve discussed doing a “day after” session, where the couple gets to relax and take some fun portraits in their wedding gown and suit. Wanting to use even more water, it was just too cold to go for it until this past week when we took a little weekend trip down to Galveston. The Strand and the beach still show signs of hurricane damage (particularly the hard-hit beach area), but it’s coming back and it worked perfectly for us. The crowds watched, waved, and cheered (and stepped aside) as Stacey and Jeremy strolled the old streets of the Strand:
Everywhere we turned there were perfect alleys, lines of trees, docks, dolphins and greenery. 🙂
After watching three or four dolphin swimming in the bay, we headed to the beach.
Along the way Jeremy took a little side detour:
You’d think they were married yesterday – I did eventually remind them that the sun was setting and we really needed to move on… 😉
The above photo was right before I stepped on granite covered with moss – the sun in my eyes, the slippery surface… I landed hard. 🙁 Luckily the cameras were safe and the only other thing bruised was my pride 🙂
A few more below, many more in their gallery, we had a great time, followed by tasty pizza at Marios and a slice of red velvet cake for my family back home 🙂
If you’re interested in a session like this, contact me above and we’ll discuss a romantic, fun afternoon. 🙂

I can’t even pick a favorite from this session, they are all beautiful! I especially love the ones on the beach – the light under that pier is fantastic. Great work!
