Emily and Jason’s Wedding at First UMC Nederland

Combine a love of emerald green, Star Wars and each other and you’ll get a smattering (just a smidgen) of the fun we had recently with Emily and Jason in their wedding. It all begins tho, with emerald green. I love the rush of the typical wedding morning, all hands on deck as the bride is primped, pampered and polished in preparation of the big event: Meanwhile… Jason takes a few minutes between pool games to get his tux on, GQ on and head out to see the love of his life in their first look: Aawww… As you saw in our last post of Emily and Jason’s “First Look”,…

    Emily and Jason’s First Look

A sneak peek at all the goodness that was Emily and Jason’s recent wedding at First United Methodist in Nederland 🙂 Emily and Jason chose to do a first look as a way to ease the nerves of walking down the aisle, getting to spend those first few moments with each other without a thousand eyes boring into the back of their heads, but mostly because they like doing things their way 🙂 I asked Emily to go with me around the back of the church and Jason would appear around the other corner, they could do the slow-motion run into each others’ arms and everyone would live happily ever-after.…

Beaumont Weddings ~ Bonnie and Oscar, Part II

After the wedding ceremony at St. Jude’s, we have a break of several hours as JoAnn of Schwartz and Woodward makes ready the reception, a beautifully tented event in Bonnie’s parent’s backyard. Everything went perfectly! Nadine, from “Who Made the Cake” brought the custom cake and cupcakes over from Houston – I cannot lie, they tasted even better than they looked 😉 Bando’s provided the catering (excellent as always), and the mariachi band from Houston kicked off the entertainment. I’m an old band nerd and these guys were outstanding! Great heart-felt emotion as Bonnie’s parents toast and give their blessings to the newlywed couple. Nothing shows how much fun a…

Beaumont Weddings ~ Bonnie and Oscar

The day began for Bonnie early in the morning at the Gonzalez Hacienda – weeks and months of preparation by a cast of hundreds boiled down to a quickly moving inner circle applying the finishing touches. 🙂 Actually… despite the whirlwind of activity surrounding their home, I love this moment of Bonnie sitting quietly, Grace Mathis working her magic and the flowergirl wanting to be in the middle of it all: Bonnie’s ace hairstylist and friend from Austin continued the magic-working as she neared the starting line for an amazing day 🙂 St Jude’s is ready! Beautiful day for a wedding! … and so is Oscar – seen here getting…

    Crave

Those who know me, know I have a pretty bad sweet tooth – and my recent introduction to Crave Cupcakes *really* isn’t helping me in my quest to get back to my fighting weight… Sooo… I just “happened” to be in the neighborhood yesterday – driving from Austin back to Beaumont, when my car suddenly veered off I-10, down and aroound 610 and onto Kirby. Well, I was in the neighborhood anyways, so I stopped in just to smell the cupcakes. Just to smell. I was actually doing some research for a potential wedding coming up next year (they’re going to have Crave Cupcakes instead of a wedding cake), you…

Tremont House Wedding ~ Annie and Jared – II

Aaannnndd we’re back! Did I mention that Annie was just a little excited to get her day going? 😀 We last left off where Annie’s dad was about to walk her into the ceremony at the Tremont House Hotel ballroom: The crowd spilled over into the reception area of the ballroom: The bride just beamed all afternoon 🙂 It was a beautiful ceremony, and the design of the room allowed me to get almost too close and still be ninja stealthy: We all know where this is going… Why, Abbey Road, of course! A little inside Beatles humor there 🙂 We headed to the reception where the room was filled…

Tremont House Weddings ~ Annie and Jared

Annie and Jared were recently married in an amazing wedding at the Tremont House Hotel in Galveston! 🙂 We had originally planned to have the ceremony on top of the hotel at the rooftop bar, but the wind blowing in off the Gulf with up to 45MPH gusts encouraged us to choose the equally well-suited ballroom across the street. A gorgeous, historical hotel on Galveston Island with Old World charm, everyone should stay there at least once. Annie spent her day getting ready in one of the many beautiful suites: Meanwhile, in another nearby suite, Jared is getting his tux in order: As Annie is finishing applying the final perfections,…
