April and Michael
This past week has been a week filled with photo sessions and heat, lots of heat. We began the week with April and Michael in downtown Beaumont, rocking the grounds of the Julie Rogers Theater – April and Michael “re-met” there, sparks flew and the rest is a blur – their whirlwind romance will be culiminating with a wedding in a few weeks, but for this evening we celebrated them and their engagement: As we walked around getting one great image after another Michael would tell me what spot he remembers seeing April in, April would remember how she felt that night and right in the middle of it they…

Christin and Eric’s Engagement Session
I met Christin a year or so ago when a friend of mine and I were cruising Adams Bayou, checking out the wildlife that is Shangri La Gardens in Orange, TX. Christin was working as a guide aboard the flat-bottom boats that toured the back alleys of Adams Bayou. That day I took lots of flora and fauna images and Christin ended up in one, pointing at some rainbow-colored fungus or other – I won’t post that image, we all looked like we were cruising around swampland in mid-summer. 🙂 Anyway, when I met Christin again in couple months ago I knew she looked familiar, turns out she worked at…

Stacey and Jeremy’s Engagement
We’re back! 🙂 We last saw Jeremy whispering sweet nothings into Stacey’s ear, here’s the rest of the story: Pulling back from the closeup of Stacey giggling by Sanderson’s wall, I love the lines in this photo: Jeremy and Stacey work hard together all day, they also play hard together – making up a dynamic duo tearing it up in the bowling leagues in Port Arthur, we felt it appropriate to get in a little lane action as they show me proper form here: and here: 🙂 I believe Jeremy’s mom wanted some bowling photos, I’m not sure if the last one is what she meant 🙂 Someone once said…

Johnna and Adam’s Engagement
This past weekend marked the beginning of our time with Johnna and Adam – a great couple from Nederland, TX getting married next summer! The sky was a bit overcast, but that only made for a huge softbox and we had fun getting some great relaxed engagement portraits of the lovebirds 🙂 We began with a few images around Johnna’s home, then headed to Boston Ave. and surrounding alleyways for the next couple of hours. Adam worked around there for quite a while so we took some photos of his old stomping grounds. Some of you may remember Adam as the go-to guy at Setzer Hardware, part of Nederland’s heritage…

Jena and Brandan’s Engagement – Part Deux
We’re back with the more “bountiest” installment of Jena and Brandon’s engagement photo session from this past weekend. 🙂 Jena and Brandan were tremendous sports – they were out to have fun that day and we did our best to join in with them – from awesome ninja moves, to jumping on the Setzer Student Center couches (we counted up the 5 Lamar University degrees we had between us and decided to go for it 😉 ), to chasing frisky ducks, to making out in the stacks, we tried it all at least once 🙂 You never know where a good book of poetry will get you… This is a…

Jena and Brandon’s Engagement
What does Buna, Beaumont, and Boston have in common (I mean, besides some awesome peanut brittle)? Give up? Jena (the southern belle from Buna) and Brandon (the Harvard Law student from Beaumont) met at Lamar University in the wee prime of their youth, fell in love, paid waaayy too much tuition on their way to lots of degrees here in Beaumont, Dallas and Boston and will be married soon in what’s sure to be the love story of the century! See? It wasn’t a trick question… 🙂 OK, maybe I’m still a little punch drunk from chasing them all over Lamar’s campus this morning, but we had a blast. Here’s…

Devin and Michael’s Engagement
Devin and Michael were in from Dallas a couple weekends ago, so we thought it would be the perfect time to photograph their engagement session in preparation for their October wedding. Even more laid back than I am, we were able to get some truly fun and relaxed images shooting all over downtown, Lamar University and everywhere in between. The weather was threatening rain all afternoon, but instead it gave us some tremendous cloudy skies for our backgrounds: Listening to a band warmup at the Barking Dog, great color in here. Michael is showing off some of the moves he’s picking up in their dance classes – he’s assured of…
