Sheila and Daniel’s Beaumont Engagement
I received a call recently from Rosalind regarding a bride who requested me – she was from here, but lives in Tennessee, working and studying at Vanderbilt – am I available for a Spring wedding? Yes, please! 🙂 After finding out that I’ve actually known Sheila’s parents for years, it will truly be an honor to take part in their special day. Sheila and Daniel met at Vanderbilt, both have doctorate’s in their specialties, and both of her parents are MD’s, but when we met recently for a quick photo session prior to their engagement party at her parents’ home here in Beaumont, it was just so relaxed and welcoming…

Kay and Aaron are Getting Married!
I first met Aaron back in Lauree and Shane’s wedding this past May as he and Kay played some smooth jazz during the reception. He was laid-back and cool, the way a string-bass player can only be. I didn’t know at the time his smooth-ness was his woo-ing the Ms. Kay Miller, pianist and vocalist extraodinaire. I’ve known Kay many years, having played in the worship band at Christ Community Church together for years. Kay and Aaron met during classes at Lamar State College Port Arthur’s new Commercial Music and Recording Arts program (you’ve seen her in the commercials – oh, and she graduated this past weekend – congratulations Kay!).…

Samantha and Blake are Getting Married!
Samantha and Blake will be tying the knot this coming October! 🙂 Recently we photographed their engagement session on the beautiful Kemah Boardwalk. We love to photograph a couple’s engagement photos in locations that mean something to them as a couple, whether it’s where they met, where they like to hang out or where the proposal took place. We went back and forth between the LSU campus, the family ranch near Port Arthur and a few other places… After searching high and low for the proper place to document their happily engaged days we settled on the Kemah Boardwalk, the place of many a hot date 🙂 With the heat…

Beaumont Engagements | Christina and Eric
I’ve known Christina and her family since she was a baby (I used to sing in the church choir with her parents when I was a teenager) and Eric for at least 10 years, so I was pretty happy when they approached me about photographing the events leading up to their wedding this coming August. 🙂 We met at the park down in Pleasure Island – my first visit there since the last hurricane. It’s recovering pretty well tho you can still see the watermarks on the bridge 20 or more feet in the air. Definitely lots of wildlife (gator, birds, raccoons, etc.) scampering around the marsh. The weather was…

Beaumont Engagements | Lauree and Shane
A beautifil Spring day in Beaumont meant it was time for Lauree and Shane’s engagement session! I’ve known Shane and his family quite a few years and was happy when they contacted me about photographing their May wedding here in Beaumont. Shane works for the Orange Fire Department and runs his own local business and he and Lauree have been dating quite a while, it was time 🙂 I couldn’t take a bad photo that day – the light was perfect and Shane and Lauree aren’t too bad looking 😉 Lauree will make a beautiful bride, don’t you think? Pretty clear skies help a lot, tho Lauree does look like…

Beaumont Engagements | Mona and Michael
Woo-hoo! It’s been a long time since I’ve been able to post an engagement session – it’s been pretty dang cold the last few months! 🙂 It was still cold the afternoon of Mona and Michael’s engagement session, by the end of the session we were down to rubbing two sticks together for a little heat. 🙂 Actually, that’s not completely true, Mona and Michael had each other to keep them warm, I was forced to burn newspaper and a camera strap. Anyways, on to the images! I’ve known Mona quite a few years, having worked with her in the past here and there and I was pleasantly surprised to…

Beaumont Engagement – Kimberly and Kyle
With the time change we have to adjust our photographic schedules or we get caught by sundown like we did in our recent Lake Charles engagement session with the future Mr. and Mrs. Kyle. 🙂 We got some really good images but the sun went down before we were quite done. So… when Kimberly and Kyle were in town a week or so ago we took a little time to take advantage of the great light and weather to finis: We found several new (to me) places with lots of good texture and light: We just loved how the sunset skimmed light across the tops of grass, great light 🙂…
