Devin and Michael – Sneak Peek

This past weekend we had the pleasure of shooting Devin and Michael’s engagement portraits. They said they were up for pretty much anything, so before the day was over we traipsed through fields, visited the Martin Luther King Memorial, dodged a train, listened to a band warmup, walked Canal St., hiked in grass over our heads, and rolled in the grass at Lamar University – you know, typical stuff we normally like to do in our engagement sessions 🙂 Definitely a couple comfortable in their own skin, Devin and Michael were a lot of fun to photograph – the relaxed atmosphere made the session fly by. Always easy with a…

    Austin Bridals

I got together this past weekend with some photographer friends of mine in Austin – we spent the weekend photographing seniors, bridal sessions and even a few wedding ‘day after’ images. The seniors and our models were pretty much up for anything, so we tried some new stuff shooting in and around downtown Austin. A few of the ‘wedding day after’ portraits may be a little ‘hotter’ than you might send to your grandparents, but if you looking for something different, we can go from mild to not-so-mild and have a lot of fun doing it, besides, as a good friend of mine said, “weddings are about passion and romance”.…

    Lifestyle Sessions

As we ease into the wedding season, everyone is having their lifestyle (also known as engagement) sessions done! All of my wedding collections include an engagement session. I always encourage my clients to do the engagement shoot because it gives us the chance to work together before the wedding. Not only will you come away with some amazing photos of the two of you but we will be able to develop a sense of comfort and trust between us. It also gives me a chance to get to know you better so I’m not a stranger showing up on your wedding day. Before the engagement session I like to ask…

    Oh Brother!

The other day I met my brother Jerry and his three sons downtown for some fun family portraits. It had been a while since the last ones and was time – they’re growing up so fast. Owen is playing basketball at Ozen High School, Zach is busy with the band at Odom Academy and Aden is playing soccer at his school. They wanted something a little different and fun – here’s a few of what we got 🙂 We began with some nice, smiling into the camera photos, then moved into some more fun images: A while later I asked them to show me some of the most awesome ninja…

    Home!

It’s been a bit busy around the homefront the past week, to say the least. 🙂 David (big brother) wasn’t so sure about the usurper to his throne at first: …but her cuteness apparently won the day and he was soon hugging and kissing his little sister: Melanie was discharged after a few days: and now it’s all over but the cuteness 🙂 Below is a few more images from the past week… we’ve got lots more (like her first bath, David trying to feed his sister, various cute faces) but I’m not sure if this blog would collapse from terminal cuteness. (We ain’t proud, why do you ask?) 🙂…

    It’s a Girl!

Yes, we knew that part already, but it’s still fun to say 🙂 Melanie went into labor a bit early last night, so we went to the hospital to get checked, the doctor (Dr. Pieternelle) was walking up the hall as we walked off the elevator and said “there’s no use even checking you, you are less than 12 hours from the scheduled c-section, let’s go ahead and have her”. 😮 Melanie’s eyes bugged, my mouth dropped and an hour later Elise was here! 🙂 Just a few photos before I head back to the hospital: Beautiful mama waiting for the arrival: Yay! A little blurry, but everything was moving…

    Morgin and Patrick’s Engagement

This past week the weather here in Southeast Texas was gorgeous, perfect for an engagement photo session in downtown Beaumont. 🙂 I met Patrick and Morgan at the Barking Dog Coffee Lounge where we warmed up the smiles and the camera with a few images around the spectacular interior – Jody and Tanya have done an amazing job of adding a little swank to the downtown area. Stop in when you get a chance. Patrick said he “was up for anything”, Morgin agreed and that’s all I needed to hear! First, we moved to the street – Morgin and Patrick were stopping traffic; me? I was trying to not become…
