Getting the Most From Your Wedding Day Photography – Part II
We’re back! ๐ Part two for how to get the most out of your wedding day photography coming right up: Suggestion #2 – Have a gap between your ceremony and reception If you are still dead-set against seeing each other before the ceremony, then consider having at least a 1-2 hour gap between the ceremony and reception. We have friends in Canada and a nice 2-3 hour gap is the norm – they’re able to travel to several locations during that time and get some amazing portraits. It’s from this session that 90% of our enlargements are made. Its where your thank you card shot will come from .this is the…

Morgin and Patrick, Part Deux
Here’s a sneak peek at the great time we had this afternoon around downtown Beaumont photographing Morgin and Patrick’s engagement session: After days of rain and cold, the weather was perfect. We’ll be photographing their upcoming wedding in August (we can’t wait!) – I’ll get some more images up soon ๐

Morgin and Patrick’s Proposal
Some little girls dream all their lives of being Cinderella, finding their prince, a whirlwind romance, the perfect proposal, followed by the perfect wedding and happily ever after. Morgin was one of those little girls – as she grew up she met her prince – Patrick, who is all too willing to give her her perfect proposal. Brought recently to a ‘dinner at Patrick’s parents’ home, Morgin was shocked when the door opened and all her friends and family yelled “surprise!”. Months of preparation had led Patrick to this moment – he pledged his undying love and never-ending devotion to Morgin, but would the glass slipper fit? Patrick got down…

Proposal Paparazzi
I have a post I am working on of a surprise proposal I was asked to photograph recently and it got me thinking – for most of us we put so much effort into finding ‘the one’, making plans for the proposal, ironing out all the details so that moment is perfect, hoping she’ll say “yes”… but don’t have any photos to remember the big event by. Let’s face it fellas, the proposal is our moment to shine! Most guys kind of glide through wedding preparations, figuring we put out the effort when we got down on one knee (You *will* get down on one knee, won’t you?), held out…

Give Thanks
Running a little late adding this one, with everything going on this time of year it’s a wonder I know which day it really is ๐ Every year at Thanksgiving, my dad’s side of the family gets together for a family reunion. Pretty much each year we have it in a different place, choosing one that’s fairly central to everyone driving from all over the States. This year we stayed at South Toledo Bend State Park (on the Louisiana side). It’s a beautiful area, especially this time of year with the leaves changing, the ducks migrating, and families missing each other. ๐ We gathered Wednesday afternoon, staying in the area…

Nine!
David turned two this past week! We invited his friends to his little soiree, surely the bash of the year, this past Sunday. We began (as papa and various uncles were still assembling toys outside) in the dining room, singing happy birthday to the all-grown-up young man. He wasn’t too sure about all the people in his house, but soon warmed to them. The festivities began indoors, but soon spilled over into the backyard – cake and ice cream for everyone! Barely able to contain themselves with the new toys to obviously be played with, it was a bit of struggle to get them to sit for long, no…
