Nederland Weddings | Celina and Matt

Wedding days are like ducks swimming – to those on the outside everything is going smoothly, little effort needed; to those on the inside, under the surface everyone is kicking furiously, many hands and feet working towards the final effortless-looking goal. It’s good when those on the inside can schedule breaks in the day, slow down a bit and enjoy it a lot more. We began Celina’s day bright and early that Saturday morning at the Nail Cottage, where Celina and her girls were getting their manicures on. Mimosas kept the laughter easy while they buffed, filed, painted and microwaved their nails into perfection. I guess that wasn’t a microwave,…

Nederland Weddings | Amy and Sam

Another beautiful day for a wedding! 🙂 Amy and Sam were married recently at St. Charles in Nederland and after their beautiful ceremony the fine folks at The Elegante made sure the reception went smoothly. Seconded by the always great Marius, the whole day was a lot of fun – here are a few of my favorites 🙂 The day began early at the Beau Cheveux Salon in Nederland – when we finished I believe a mushroom cloud of hairspray rose over Mid-County: 🙂 Meanwhile the Grand Ballroom at the Elegante is just about ready: and a few cake table details: Sam proposed at Disney World and before they left…

    Nederland Bridal Portraits | Amy

We took Amy’s bridal portraits at the always beautiful Julie Rogers Theater in downtown Beaumont. She looked gorgeous and was great to work with! Here are a *few* of my favorites 🙂 Julie Rogers, besides being the perfect place for portraits, was also a welcome respite from the heat outside – I believe I saw steam rising from the fountains 🙂 Here’s one Amy chose for her large portrait for the reception: Unfortunately a performance by the symphony was to take place later that evening, so we were unable to use the stage and curtains, but I love the gorgeous red chairs and their lines going through the scene: Great…

Southeast Texas Weddings | Ashley and AJ

We’re back! Warning: a plethora of pretty photos are ahead. 🙂 Part two continues Ashley and AJ’s wedding day story. We last saw Ashley walking up the sidewalk to the sanctuary for First Baptist Church. The table has been set as rose petals strewn about the aisle lay waiting their purpose: The organist is playing softly in the background, everything is ready as 14 months of preparation slide perfectly into place for the following moments: AJ has walked in as members of the bridal party are escorted down the aisle – he perks up noticeably when his bride makes her appearance: Here she is! All eyes are on AJ as…

Nederland Weddings | Ashley and AJ – Part One

This past week I had the honor of photographing Ashley and AJ’s beautiful wedding. You’ve seen their engagement and bridal photos over the past months, this is the day we’ve been working toward… Beginning early in the morning, I caught up with Ashley and her girls at La Vie Salon in Nederland – I love the smell of hairspray in the morning! 😉 Ashley was all in a tizzy: No curlers were harmed in the making of these images! 🙂 It takes a while for that many girls to get their hair done on one day but it was worth the wait – La Vie does excellent work. Rings! Once…

    Morgin and Patrick’s Wedding Album

Morgin and Patrick’s wedding album is done! Actually, it’s been done for quite a while I’ve just been looking for time to write about it 🙂 I think it turned out real well – keep in mind that the finished album is much larger–14×10 inches in size and 28 inches across when open. As always, if you’re reading this on our Facebook page, the images are much nicer on the actual blog post. The song “When You Love Her Like Crazy” by my old friend Mark Chesnutt, was the song Morgin and Patrick danced to in their Neches Room Reception. Catering by the always outstanding Beaumont Catering Company. We are…
