Nederland Engagements | Lindsey and Trent
Lindsey and Trent are getting married! 🙂 And so we kick off our time with BellaFotografica’s wedding couples from 2011 – yes, we’re in the middle of wedding season for 2010 still but most couples book us a year or more in advance and we’re always itching to get started 🙂 We began this hot and windy afternoon on Boston Avenue in Nederland – both Trent and Lindsey are from this great town and we felt it important to get some photos in and around their heritage: Handsome couple! 🙂 Lindsey is a nursing major at Lamar Port Arthur and Trent is a business major at Lamar Beaumont (careers close…

Beaumont Engagements | Ashleigh and Tyne
April showers bring engagement sessions around here – it’s warmed up enough we don’t have to wear long sleeves but still isn’t so hot that we need to keep gatorade nearby 🙂 Coming soon are the wedding festivities for Ashleigh and Tyne – two young lovers from the Southeast Texas area – Ashleigh works in a local hospital and Tyne, when he isn’t playing in a band, works in one of the local plants – good people, as my family would say 🙂 Ashleigh called the other day and wanted to know if they could bring Tyne’s drum set and take some photos with it – sure! I’m all for…

Beaumont Engagements | Christina and Eric
I’ve known Christina and her family since she was a baby (I used to sing in the church choir with her parents when I was a teenager) and Eric for at least 10 years, so I was pretty happy when they approached me about photographing the events leading up to their wedding this coming August. 🙂 We met at the park down in Pleasure Island – my first visit there since the last hurricane. It’s recovering pretty well tho you can still see the watermarks on the bridge 20 or more feet in the air. Definitely lots of wildlife (gator, birds, raccoons, etc.) scampering around the marsh. The weather was…

Beaumont Engagements | Sarah and Pete
I met Sarah and Pete way back in Jeanne and David’s wedding, she was the bridesmaid in the classic Chanel-like dress and netted veil, he was her boyfriend, standing cool off-to-the-side and watching the action. We actually talked for a moment or two, discussing getting together at some point for a session, I really liked their style. I don’t think either of us knew it would be for her upcoming wedding 🙂 Flash-forward nearly a year – Sarah gets engaged to Pete and contacts me regarding photographing all the festivities leading up to their Halloween wedding this coming Fall – yahoo! 🙂 We have a few unique sessions coming up,…

Nederland Engagements | Celina and Matt
Whenever I meet with a couple for a wedding consultation, one of my main goals is to get to know them – find out how they met, how he (or she 😉 ) proposed, things like that. As we move into discussing planning their engagement sessions I stress how important it is to use locations that mean something to them as a couple, like where they met, where they went on their first date, where they like to hang out. Ten or thirty years from now they can point to the photos in their engagement album (you do plan to get an engagement album, don’t you? ) and say “that’s…

Beaumont Engagements | Lauree and Shane
A beautifil Spring day in Beaumont meant it was time for Lauree and Shane’s engagement session! I’ve known Shane and his family quite a few years and was happy when they contacted me about photographing their May wedding here in Beaumont. Shane works for the Orange Fire Department and runs his own local business and he and Lauree have been dating quite a while, it was time 🙂 I couldn’t take a bad photo that day – the light was perfect and Shane and Lauree aren’t too bad looking 😉 Lauree will make a beautiful bride, don’t you think? Pretty clear skies help a lot, tho Lauree does look like…

Beaumont Engagements | Mona and Michael
Woo-hoo! It’s been a long time since I’ve been able to post an engagement session – it’s been pretty dang cold the last few months! 🙂 It was still cold the afternoon of Mona and Michael’s engagement session, by the end of the session we were down to rubbing two sticks together for a little heat. 🙂 Actually, that’s not completely true, Mona and Michael had each other to keep them warm, I was forced to burn newspaper and a camera strap. Anyways, on to the images! I’ve known Mona quite a few years, having worked with her in the past here and there and I was pleasantly surprised to…
