    Ann Margaret’s Christening

Beautiful little Ann Margaret celebrated her christening recently! We focus mainly on weddings here, but have done the occasional baby dedication/ christening, so I was excited to get to document her day. Held in the gorgeous Silsbee First United Methodist Church, the day was perfect! Pastor Dan walked over to shake everyone’s hand, big brother wanted his turn: Going… going… Gone… Soon everyone lined up front for scripture reading and prayer. The newly christened Ann Margaret gets to show off now with Pastor Dan: Yay! 🙂 After the service, a family reception was held in Ann Margaret’s home. Beautifully catered by Katherine and Company, with music provided by the best…

    Beaumont Baby Dedication | Waylan

It was a beautiful day for a wedding! Umm… a baby dedication! 🙂 This past year I made the decision to focus totally on wedding and wedding-related (engagements, bridals and trash-the-dress) events, really wanting to master what many consider a “niche” area in photography… that is until Scarlett brought little Waylan by and requested my documenting his dedication. How can you pass up his cute chubby cheeks? 🙂 It was a beautiful day for a baby dedication! Calder Baptist Church in Beaumont is a gorgeous church here in the Oaks Historic District. We began early with some family portraits, including a few of Scarlett with Waylan and beautiful natural light…

    Three!

OK, several posts coming in the next few days, getting caught up on the busy months of November and December 🙂 Note: If you are viewing this on our Facebook page, the images are much nicer on the actual blog post. David turned 3 a few weeks ago, he’s growing into a fine young man, tho he is sure is 4th birthday is “coming up” soon. 🙂 He is into “Little Einsteins”, probably too much, maybe only surpassed by his craze for “choo choo trains”. 🙂 Local bakeries do not make Little Einstein cakes anymore, so we improvised a bit and David had a blast. While things were being set…

Beaumont Events – Bicycles and Bibles

Earlier today I had the distinct privilege of taking part in the Bicycles and Bibles event at Ford Park Arena here in Beaumont. Sponsored by the Reaud Foundation, Academy Sports, Power Castle Ministries, Cotton Cargo and a host of other foundations, churches, and restaurants, this annual event now entering its 10th year gives away 1,000+ bikes, Bibles, balls, backpacks, and toys to needy children in the area. Among my friends volunteering at the event were Kelly Johnston for the Reaud Foundation, Karen Kessinger, Jason Richards, associate pastor for Christian Fellowship Worship Center and Dustin Cowart, pastor for Asylum Youth Ministries. 🙂 Note: If you are viewing this on our Facebook…

    Blue Like Jazz

I had the opportunity to go and see my brother Jerry and a good friend of ours – Kay Miller – perform for a benefit function at Madisons a few nights ago. Kay plays in lots of venues around the area, including Poblano Grill , Sugas Deep South Cuisine and Jazz Bar and our church, Christ Community in Beaumont. Jerry, who usually works for the Beaumont Fire Department and in real estate with Coldwell Southern Homes, has performed in many places over the years, but I hadn’t seen them together yet. That night, with a full house looking on, they killed it. 🙂 With the lights turned down low, sax…

    Carrie Underwood

I don’t get to go to many concerts since our little one’s birth, but since Melanie’s birthday was coming up fast, I decided a couple tickets to multi-Grammy winner Carrie Underwood’s concert would be a nice gift. Held in the local Ford Park Arena, the venue was packed with thousands of rabid Carrie Underwood fans: The price of concert tickets these days is crazy, but we weren’t disappointed in the performance Carrie Underwood put on – Amazing! The band and backup singers are the best in the business – young and talented. The lightshow and “laser beams” really added to the atmosphere. 🙂 She rocked all her #1 songs and…

Point of Grace and Selah in Concert

Melanie and I attended a concert recently at Second Baptist Church opened by: Selah with Point of Grace headlining: I saw multi-Grammy winning Point of Grace in a Christmas concert maybe 10 years ago. I had forgotten how many great songs they sing. LOTS of number one hits, their most recent topping charts and entering the country charts – “How You Live” They really sang well that night, backed by a husband or 2 and one of the guys from Avalon. Opening for them (and closing) was a group that’s been singing nearly as long as POG – Selah. I had heard of them but really didn’t know anything about…
