    Nuevo Progreso

    Recently my family traveled to Harlingen, Texas for my nephew Chris’s and his new bride Linda’s wedding (more on that soon). The ceremony wasn’t until Saturday evening, so we took the opportunity to go into Mexico for a little sight-seeing and fun. I’ve crossed over at Matamoros a few times and that can take ages, but luckily we decided to go across at Nuevo Progreso – getting across and back was the fastest, most hassle-free trip across the Texas/Mexico border I’ve ever been on.     Moody Mansion

    In prepping for an upcoming wedding this summer in Galveston, I found out there’s a shortage of photos of the inside of Moody Mansion (where the ceremony is to be held). We decided to take a road trip and get a handle on what kind of light and space is available. For those unfamiliar with the Mansion on Broadway, it’s a 28,000 4-story home completed in 1895. W.L Moody Jr. bought the home from the heirs of the original owners soon after the great hurricane of 1900.     Point of Grace and Selah in Concert

    Melanie and I attended a concert recently at Second Baptist Church opened by: Selah with Point of Grace headlining: I saw multi-Grammy winning Point of Grace in a Christmas concert maybe 10 years ago. I had forgotten how many great songs they sing. LOTS of number one hits, their most recent topping charts and entering the country charts – “How You Live” They really sang well that night, backed by a husband or 2 and one of the guys from Avalon.
